Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a motivated and service‑driven Retail Assistant Supervisor to support daily store operations and team performance under the guidance of the Store Manager. This leadership role is instrumental in achieving sales, expense, and profit goals while ensuring staff are properly trained to meet production standards, merchandising expectations, customer service goals, and mission integration. The ideal candidate brings retail leadership experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the flexibility to support varying operational demands while advancing Goodwill's mission of creating opportunities and strengthening the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the achievement of revenue, expense, and profit objectives in alignment with the store budget.
Assist in supervising, training, and coaching staff to meet production goals, merchandise standards, and customer service expectations.
Promote mission integration and ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Support daily store operations, including production, merchandising, checkout, and customer service activities.
Contribute to performance standards through effective leadership, sound business judgment, and teamwork.
Assist with responsibilities related to safety, financial results, guest and mission services, merchandising, administration, maintenance, and staffing.
Maintain flexibility to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by store operations.
Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
College degree preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of retail sales experience required, with two (2) years preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of management or supervisory experience required.
Working knowledge of point‑of‑sale systems, donation systems, office computers, and telephones.
Strong judgment, patience, and professionalism in fast‑paced or stressful environments.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Basic knowledge of business‑related mathematics.
Experience supervising and training staff in production, merchandising, checkout, and customer service.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Willingness to occasionally work in environments where temperatures and climate may fluctuate.
