Position Summary
The Retail Associate is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of the marina retail store. This position assists guests with purchases, maintains merchandise displays, processes sales transactions, and helps ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with merchandise selection and answering questions about products and marina services.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process cash, credit card, and electronic payments.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and complete opening and closing cash procedures.
- Receive, stock, organize, and replenish merchandise, beverages, snacks, fishing supplies, boating accessories, and other retail inventory.
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing merchandise displays.
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low-stock items.
- Receive deliveries and properly organize inventory in storage areas.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the retail store, stockrooms, and guest service areas.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and cash handling standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of merchandise.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stock shelves and organize inventory.
- Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks associated with retail operations and cashiering.
