Retail Banking Intern (Intern)
Location: Lincoln, NE
This part time Retail Banking Intern will commit to a one-year agreement to support daily banking operations while gaining practical experience in financial services, customer service, and banking procedures. The intern will begin by learning the fundamentals of retail banking in a teller role, gain exposure to multiple banking products and services, and complete a project determined by management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn the Banking Industry and assist bank staff with daily branch operations
Accurately process customer transactions, including receiving deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, and issuing receipts, installment loan payments, making
withdrawals, cashing checks, providing customer account printouts and scans work for remote capture
Effectively cross-sells the Banks Services and products
Balance cash drawers, TCR, coin, and vault totals at end of day
Balances/services ATM
Open and close the branch in accordance with established procedures
Process night deposits, mail transactions, and document/report as required
Successfully complete teller training and any other compliance training deemed necessary
Observe and assist with Retail banking processes, accounts, and compliance procedures
Conducts financial research
Maintain confidentiality of customer financial information
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sort/wrap coin, sorting currency for fit currency
Provide customer access to safe deposit boxes, answer telephone, completes reports, forms, documents and other correspondence as need
Assist in lobby appearance and direct lobby traffic when necessary
Performs other reasonable duties or special projects as assigned

Complete project assigned by the Retail Management Group
The project will include:
o Project overview
o Business problem/opportunity
o Objectives/successes
o Key findings
o Recommendations/deliverables
o Presentation to management
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Must be a currently enrolled college student (Prefer bachelors degree in finance/banking/business administration)
Must commit to a one-year internship
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
High attention to accuracy and detail
Basic knowledge of banking operations and financial services
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate to customers and associates
