Job Summary
Sun Outdoors Ocean City is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Retail Cashier (Seasonal) to join our team. As the first point of contact in our on-site retail store, you will provide exceptional customer service while efficiently handling guest purchases and transactions. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced resort environment while assisting guests and helping create a positive and welcoming shopping experience. The Retail Cashier is responsible for accurately processing payments and maintaining proper cash-handling procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process guest transactions, including cash, credit cards, and house charges
- Verify purchase totals and ensure all transactions are completed correctly
- Provide excellent customer service and address guest questions or concerns in a professional manner
- Follow cash-handling and accounting guidelines for cash drawer and house bank management
- Balance and secure the house bank at the end of each shift
- Maintain compliance with Point of Sale (POS) procedures and resort policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Guest service experience required; retail or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and internet use
- Basic math skills required for cash handling, making change, and balancing drawers
- Ability to resolve guest concerns calmly and effectively
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with guests
- Ability to operate POS systems and cashier equipment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
