GENERAL SUMMARY
This Cashier position is part time and must be able to work on some weekends. No seasonal applications please. Your primary responsibility will be register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise, along with enrolling customers in Ace Rewards. You will positively represent Lori's Ace Home & Hardware through assisting customers in a friendly and positive manner. You will also help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness when not at the register.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service:
• Project a positive representation of Lori's Ace
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as sales associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Enroll customers in Ace Rewards, the in-house loyalty program
• Answer and monitor all calls promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.
Register Operations:
• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Participate in store meetings.
Front End Appearance and Upkeep:
• Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times.
• Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
• Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
High School diploma
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Superior customer service skills.
• Good verbal communication and spelling skills.
• Friendly personality.
• Attention to detail.
• Good typing skills
• Ability to learn store products and services.
• Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.
WAGE: $12-13 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
