Caper is a new “smart” shopping cart that lets customers scan items as they shop, see their total spend in real time, apply store loyalty discounts on the fly, and check out right from the cart - no checkout line. Customers love it because it saves time, clips coupons, makes savings visible, and turns a normal grocery store into an easy, modern, and magical experience.

What We’re Looking For:
- Do you enjoy talking with people and can strike up a friendly conversation with strangers?
- Can you read the room well and can tailor a quick pitch to whoever is in front of you - a senior, a parent, a customer in a hurry, a cost-oriented shopper?
- Do you like new technology and feel comfortable showing it off, even if it’s new to you?
- Are you reliable and self-directed - you show up on time, follow the demo process compliantly, and complete your end-of-shift admin without being reminded?
- Can you stay positive when customers say no and move on to the next prospective customer?
- Do you have a background in retail, customer service, hospitality, or any role where you’ve been on your feet engaging customers continuously during extended periods of time?
What Success Looks Like:
- Two things drive success in the role: the number of demos you complete and the number of those demos that turn into a customer shopping with Caper. Both are measurable. The most important habit is consistency - showing up, being friendly/professional, running the demo the way you’re trained, and capturing every demo so your work is counted.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Adoption – Demo the cart with customers so they will use the Caper Cart.
- Create Buzz – Engage shoppers and introduce them to the Caper Cart experience.
- Show & Tell – Deliver quick, fun tutorials that highlight the cart’s coolest features.
- Be the Go-To Expert – Troubleshoot on the spot and keep things running smoothly.
- Collect Insights – Gather feedback and share it with our tech team to improve the experience.
- Collaborate – Partner with store teams to ensure a seamless rollout.
- Deliver WOW Moments – Provide top-tier service and leave every customer smiling.
Team Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
- Retail, Brand Ambassador, Customer Service previous experience is a plus.
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to be able to work the entire duration of the project they are assigned
Working Conditions
The Retail Experience Specialist requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with frequent walking, and to use hands and wrists regularly, including repetitive motions; the ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs.; the ability to travel via car.
