Position Summary
The Retail Facility Technician performs a variety of routine and skilled tasks involving general maintenance of Good Day Farm's facilities, equipment, and grounds. Wide range of facilities services tasks, including, but not limited to, non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith.
Location: This is a hybrid role based in the New Orleans metro area. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Makes routine plumbing repairs, replaces lighting, and makes electrical-related repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Works independently on routine recurring assignments or assists another worker in performing more complex tasks.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees.
- Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and learns safety regulations and practices, safety precautions.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, machine manuals, and schematic drawings to assist in making plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Comprehends written materials.
- Uses Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures and appropriate equipment in completing assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary trade or vocational school preferred; equivalent experience considered in place of formal education preferred
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience with mechanical responsibilities
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
- The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
- The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions.
- The ability to work in low-light situations.

- Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals
