Handcart Garden Center is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Retail Garden Center Associate to join our team in Dade City, Florida. If you enjoy working outdoors, helping customers, and being surrounded by plants and nature, this is a great opportunity to grow with a locally loved garden center.

Our associates are the heart of our customer experience. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, staying active, and learning more about plants, gardening, and outdoor living.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
• Assist customers with plant selections, gardening products, and supplies
• Operate the register and assist with retail sales transactions
• Water plants and help maintain the health and appearance of nursery inventory
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise displays
• Assist with unloading plant shipments and moving inventory
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment
• Help load plants, soil, and supplies into customer vehicles when needed
• Support seasonal displays and promotions

Qualifications

• Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills
• Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds (bags of soil, plants, etc.)
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Basic plant knowledge is a plus but not required (we are happy to train!)
• Retail or garden center experience is a bonus but not required
