Retail General Manager

The Retail General Manager will lead and oversee a large team of 16 or more staff at a dynamic store specializing in general merchandise, clothing and apparel, electronics, and specialty goods. This role focuses on achieving store-wide revenue goals through effective team leadership, operational management, and customer engagement to ensure a seamless and profitable retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop retail staff to build a high-performing team
• Manage daily cash handling and paperwork processes
• Plan and execute advertising and merchandising strategies
• Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory management
• Create staff schedules and lead regular team meetings
• Drive sales by setting and monitoring store-wide revenue targets
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization to enhance customer experience
• Foster a positive workplace culture and promote team development

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail management experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification is helpful
• Experience in retail operations and inventory control
• Proficiency in cash management and staff training

• Strong customer service and leadership skills
