Retail General Manager

The Retail General Manager oversees the daily operations of a single store, ensuring smooth functioning across all areas including sales, staff management, and inventory control. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, this role is pivotal in driving store performance, maintaining strong relationships with local vendors, and fostering a productive team environment during regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train new employees to maintain a skilled workforce
• Handle cash transactions accurately and securely
• Manage daily paperwork and order processing efficiently
• Develop and implement advertising and merchandising strategies
• Build and cultivate a cohesive, high-performing team
• Oversee staff development and continuous training initiatives
• Control inventory, manage ordering, receiving, and supplier relations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail management

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Retail Management
• Forklift certification considered an asset
• Strong skills in cash handling, inventory management, and staff training
• Experience in team building, merchandising, advertising, and customer service
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage paperwork and order processing effectively
