    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Retail Manager - Overnight is responsible for leading all overnight operational activities to ensure the store is fully stocked, merchandised, organized, and customer ready prior to opening each day. This role oversees overnight freight processing, replenishment, merchandising execution, inventory accuracy, pricing integrity, seasonal transitions, and store readiness initiatives while maintaining a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.

    The Retail Manager - Overnight provides leadership, direction, coaching, and development for Overnight Supervisors and Outfitters, drives accountability for operational results, and partners closely with daytime leadership to ensure seamless communication, workload transitions, and execution of company priorities. This position plays a critical role in supporting sales, inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and the overall customer experience.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Lead and prioritize all overnight freight processing, replenishment, and stocking activities by delegating work assignments, monitoring execution, and adjusting staffing and resources as needed to ensure product availability, sales floor readiness, and completion of store priorities.
    • Conduct daily workload planning and shift transition communications with opening and closing leadership teams.
    • Establish clear performance expectations, drive accountability for productivity, quality, safety, and operational execution, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to build a high-performing overnight team.
    • Lead and monitor overnight operations to ensure all workload is completed on time and in accordance with company standards, maintaining an uninterrupted customer experience during store hours.
    • Oversee execution of planograms, seasonal transitions, merchandising resets, price changes, and inventory projects while ensuring compliance with visual presentation standards, merchandise directives, signing, labeling, and pricing accuracy.
    • Drive inventory accuracy through effective execution of replenishment, stocking, and inventory control processes with the overnight team.
    • Oversee execution of special events, merchandising initiatives, pricing and UPC integrity, inventory accuracy, assortment planning, and advertised item presentation to ensure operational excellence, compliance with company standards, and store readiness.
    • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws, including scheduling, interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Predominantly works overnight shifts and may occasionally be scheduled for other shifts to support store operations and business needs.
    • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Certificate(s) or License(s): First Aid and CPR
    • Years of experience: Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, in Receiving or multi-department retail environments.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

    • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
    • Strong understanding of retail operations and sales principles.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proven ability to drive sales and manage operational processes.
    • Proficiency in inventory control and visual merchandising standards.
    • Prior experience and demonstrated ability to problem solve Warehouse logistical issues.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Physical ability to handle merchandise and perform store setup tasks as needed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Regularly walks, stands, and works on a computer.

    Occasionally sits and lifts up to 50 lbs.

    Additional Physical Requirements:

    • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, step stools, etc.
    • Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
    • Occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
    • Occasionally work in low or high temperatures.
    • Occasionally work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
    • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
    • Occasionally work in hazardous conditions.

    INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

    Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
