The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Marshalls to find qualified candidates for Retail Merchandise Associates in Staten Island, NY. Position Overview:

The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience while supporting the daily operations of the Marshalls store. This role supports the sales floor team by assisting customers, processing merchandise, maintaining store presentation, and following established operational and loss prevention procedures. The position works closely with fellow associates and supervisors to keep the store organized, safe, and ready for customers. Associates may also be cross-trained in multiple areas of the store to support changing business needs.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly and engaging customer service by assisting customers with questions, purchases, and returns.
  • Operate the register accurately and process purchases, returns, and customer transactions according to company procedures.
  • Process, prepare, price, and organize merchandise for placement on the sales floor.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and well-recovered sales floor throughout the day.
  • Follow merchandising standards and ensure products are properly displayed and presented.
  • Support loss prevention and shrink reduction efforts by following company policies and safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with associates and supervisors to support daily store operations and changing business needs.
  • Promote store credit and loyalty programs while maintaining a positive and professional customer experience.
Requirements:
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in direction and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
  • Ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise or other heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have open availability to work a variety of shifts to meet business needs.
Pay Range: USD $17.00 - USD $17.50 /Hr.
