The Pharmacy Technician Trainee (PTT) is responsible for providing technical support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in the pharmacy. Responsibilities include preparation, distribution and storage of medications. Works with computerized and automated systems for dispensing and preparing medications. Responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and interdepartmental personnel.

As required by 247 CMR 8.03 (5) Pharmacy Technician trainees must submit and receive pharmacy technician license after completing 500 hours but before 1500 hours or 1 year of service (whichever comes first)
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Social/Environmental Requirements:
Work requires periods of close attention to work with out interruption. Concentrated effort of up to 4 hours without break may be required. Work routine is fairly consistent, but employee needs to be able to use judgment to respond to events several times a week.

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift. This job requires constant walking, standing, Keyboard use, Endurance-working up to 5-6 hours without a break, frequent sitting, bending neck, bending waist, Fine Manipulation using both hands, Pushing/Pulling using both hands, Reaching-above shoulder height, Reaching-below shoulder height.
There may be occasional Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 lbs, Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 lbs, Pushing items weighing up to 10 lbs, Pushing items weighing up to 25 lbs, Pushing items weighing up to 50 lbs. Rarely there may be Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs, Pushing items weighing up to 75 lbs.
Pay Range: $19.00 - $19.00
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
