Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Associate plays a very important role at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar 30A. In this position, it will be essential to greet and engage with all Shunk Gulley guests, as you are the first and last impression of the business. Below are the fundamental areas that each Retail Sales Associate must perform on a daily basis to ensure positive retail operations.

• Inform customers about sales, promotions, and new product lines
• Build guest relationships through excellent customer service and honest recommendations
• Effectively process transactions through Gift Shop POS system
• Stock and merchandise sales floor as directed
• Process incoming merchandise as directed
• Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness on the sales floor
• Open and close the gift shop within operating hours
• Other related duties as directed by management

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with guests, peers, and management
• Ability to multitask, while being attentive to guests and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
• Previous retail experience, or similar experience on the sales floor, is required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
• Must be willing to work peak hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be capable of lifting 30 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years old
