Retail Sales Representative

Job Summary

This position is responsible for sales of Graniterock Building Materials while ensuring alignment with Graniterock's Family Vision, Core Purpose, Core Values, Strategic priorities, and business objectives.

This position will be supporting either our Santa Cruz or Seaside Branch.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Comply, understand, and promote safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."
• Provide world class customer service while serving as the key customer contact to respond to customer requests, identify needs, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process.
• Establish new customer accounts through walk-in and call-in customers.
• Educate customers on Graniterock materials and services to promote the Company and drive our business.
• Support quarterly inventory cycle counting to ensure adequate product on hands and purchasing needs.
• Maintain accurate records of POS, special orders, inventories, and cash flow.

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior customer service experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to interface effectively with coworkers, management, and customers.
• Strong customer service, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• General knowledge of the use and application of construction building materials.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• General understanding of construction site and plant safety requirements.
