The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Retail Specialist to join our team at our Papago Park Campus! Day in the Life:

As a full-time Retail Specialist, you'll support the Arizona Humane Society's three pet-centered retail stores while creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for adopters, pet owners, and members of the community. This role is perfect for someone with a positive, energetic attitude who is passionate about customer service and enjoys building lasting relationships with every guest who walks through the door.

In this role, you'll greet and assist customers, recommend products to meet their needs, operate the point-of-sale system, process online orders, and help achieve sales goals. You'll also maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail environment, assist with inventory and cash handling, answer customer inquiries by phone and online, support and train retail volunteers, and assist in the café as needed. Job Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Arizona Food Handlers Card required.
• 2+ years of retail experience, including inventory assistance, stocking, facing, and product knowledge required.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs and recommend merchandise to customers.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to resolve issues effectively.
• Knowledge of point of sale and word processing software programs preferred.
• Understanding of retail and cash handling operations required.
• Must be comfortable working around animals.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk up to 8 hours at a time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes, wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most of the time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated retail environment.
