Retail Store Analyst to support store performance analytics, sales planning, financial analysis, and business strategy initiatives. This role plays a key part in driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across a nationwide retail store network.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $40/hr - $50/hr
Position Overview: The Retail Store Analyst is passionate about leveraging data to drive business performance and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. This highly visible role partners closely with Store Operations, Finance, Merchandising, and executive leadership to analyze sales performance, identify growth opportunities, support forecasting initiatives, and develop strategic reporting that informs business decisions. Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities of the Retail Store Analyst:- Sales Analytics - Analyze store performance data, including sales, traffic, conversion, productivity, and expense trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Executive Reporting - Develop, maintain, and enhance sales and performance reporting for leadership teams to support strategic decision-making.
- Sales Planning & Forecasting - Support the development of sales plans, forecasting models, and performance tracking processes across store, district, regional, and divisional levels.
- Business Performance Analysis - Evaluate business performance and provide actionable recommendations to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Revenue & Margin Optimization - Identify opportunities to improve sales, margins, and operational efficiency through detailed analytics and business insights.
- Leadership Support - Partner with store leadership to build and optimize sales plans while supporting achievement of organizational goals.
- Financial Analysis - Collaborate with Finance to assess store-level expenses, budget performance, forecasting accuracy, and variance reporting.
- Promotional Performance Tracking - Analyze promotional, assortment, and financial performance to support future planning and strategy development.
- Strategic Reporting - Prepare executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and reporting materials for leadership meetings and key initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Stores, Finance, Merchandising, and other corporate teams to align data insights with business strategies.
- Project Management - Independently manage analytical projects from initial scope through execution, reporting, and recommendation delivery.
- Business Intelligence Support - Develop analytical frameworks and tools that improve visibility into store performance and operational effectiveness.
Required Experience/Skills for the Retail Store Analyst:- 5-8 years of experience in analytics, finance, strategy, business planning, or a related function.
- Experience within retail, beauty, luxury retail, or multi-unit store environments strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of sales analytics, business performance metrics, and forecasting methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and develop reporting models.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills.
- Knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and P&L management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving organization and adapt to changing business needs.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
