Full-time | Tuesday–Saturday | $22–$24 per hour

Schedule: Primarily closing shifts, typically 11 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Shift times may vary based on delivery schedules and store needs.

About Seright’s Ace Hardware

Seright’s Ace Hardware is a family-owned, locally operated business serving North Idaho since 1979. We help our neighbors care for their homes and complete their projects through knowledgeable, friendly service.

We are looking for a hands-on retail leader who enjoys helping customers, supporting associates, and safely delivering merchandise. This position combines store supervision with local customer deliveries and merchandise transfers between our Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene, and Rathdrum locations.

Retail Leadership and Customer Service

• Provide helpful, knowledgeable service and set a positive example for associates.

• Act as manager on duty when assigned, within established company procedures and authority.

• Direct associates’ daily work, communicate priorities, and follow up on assigned tasks.

• Resolve escalated customer concerns within company guidelines and refer issues requiring additional authority to management.

• Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned, including required cash-handling, reconciliation, and store-security responsibilities.

• Coach associates on customer service, product knowledge, safe work practices, and store standards.

• Support sales goals by helping customers find appropriate products and complete their purchases.

• Communicate staffing, operational, safety, and customer concerns to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

• Coordinate a clear handoff to another designated leader before leaving the store for deliveries.

Delivery and Vehicle Responsibilities

• Safely operate company box trucks and vans for customer deliveries and transfers between stores.

• Verify merchandise, quantities, condition, and delivery paperwork before departure.

• Load, secure, transport, and unload merchandise using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices.

• Operate liftgates and other delivery equipment after completing required training.

• Inspect vehicles before use and promptly report damage, defects, maintenance needs, or safety concerns.

• Communicate professionally with customers and store teams about arrival times, delivery instructions, delays, and issues.

• Complete accurate delivery confirmations and transfer records.

• Protect customer property and merchandise during loading and delivery.

• Follow applicable driving requirements and company procedures. Stop and seek assistance when a vehicle, load, delivery location, or handling task is unsafe.

Store Operations

• Assist with receiving, stocking, pricing, inventory organization, and merchandise displays.

• Maintain clean, orderly sales floors, stockrooms, and outdoor merchandise areas.

• Help maintain accurate signage and complete merchandise resets.

• Use forklifts or other powered equipment only after required training, evaluation, and company authorization.

• Support other store duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to guide associates, exercise sound judgment, and follow through on responsibilities.

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for assigned company vehicles.

• Driving record that meets company and insurer eligibility standards.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate, required for this position’s box-truck driving duties.

• Relevant box-truck driving experience preferred.

• Ability to use or learn company point-of-sale, inventory, email, and delivery systems.

• Willingness to develop knowledge of hardware and home-improvement products.

• Availability for the Tuesday–Saturday schedule, primarily closing shifts, with flexibility for variations in shift times.

Position Level and Pay

Supervisor I / Delivery Driver: $22–$23 per hour

Performs assigned store-supervision, manager-on-duty, opening/closing, and delivery responsibilities within established procedures. Guides associates and handles customer issues within delegated authority, with management support for more complex decisions.

Supervisor II / Delivery Driver: $23–$24 per hour

Brings demonstrated team or shift-leadership experience and the ability to independently lead assigned shifts, adjust work priorities, coach associates, and resolve more complex operational and customer issues within delegated authority.

Most hires are expected to enter at Supervisor I. Placement and starting pay depend on relevant experience, demonstrated driving and leadership skills, and the responsibilities assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This is an active role involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling, entering and exiting delivery vehicles, and using steps or ladders as required. Work takes place indoors and outdoors, including during changing weather conditions.

Duties include lifting and carrying merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Use appropriate material-handling equipment or team assistance for heavier or awkward items, and whenever conditions make individual handling unsafe. Employees are expected to follow safe handling procedures and request assistance when needed.
