Retail Supervisor

As a Retail Supervisor, you'll lead the sales team to deliver exceptional service, showcase our merchandise, help guests appreciate our musical legacy. You'll support retail management in daily operations, including guest service, sales and merchandising, and financials. Our retail locations range from traditional gift shop environments to live performance venues. As the ideal candidate you'll model teamwork, service, and integrity to foster a positive and productive workplace. You'll motivate your team to deliver unforgettable experiences throughout Opry Entertainment Group's portfolio of venues. Reports to Retail Manager.

Supervise daily retail operations. Guide team in actively merchandising. Keep the sales floor fully stocked, visually appealing, with apparel neatly folded and properly sized, following brand merchandizing SOPs

Lead engaging pre-shift meetings that establish clear expectations, including staff assignments and break schedules.

Ensure staff is executing all service programs, as directed by department leadership, including up-selling, average checks, units per transaction goals, and conversion.

Fulfill various retail roles as needed. Serve as the first point of contact for visitor concerns and provide leadership with feedback on guest experiences.

Ensure order and cleanliness of sales floor and stockroom areas. Dust displays, sweep floors, empty trash bins, clean windows, etc.

Train and develop retail employees based on business needs.

Account for daily cash register sales, appropriate cash handling, and check-in/check-out procedures.

Process daily shipments. Receive and unload boxes from truck to storeroom and sales floor per SOPs. Inspect shipment for accuracy, damage, note issues and sign invoices. Relay inventory concerns and product suggestions to leadership.

Ensure equipment and supplies are in working order and stocked for shift. Immediately notify appropriate departments (maintenance, IT, etc.) when equipment failure occurs.

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report equipment malfunction, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management immediately.

Assist with quarterly and annual physical inventory procedures and conduct periodic cycle counts.

Communicate and uphold all corporate standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Follow and support brand SOPs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

2+ years' retail experience, supervisory role preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Strong leadership skills that include the ability to coach and clearly communicate expectations

Dedication to sales and guest service excellence

Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and fluency with retail POS system functionality

Able to work during peak times, including weekends and holidays, to support business needs

Physical Requirements

Speak and hear to communicate with guests and use both near and distance vision for operating the POS system, reading SKUs, and completing merchandising tasks. Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items. Frequently climb stairs throughout the venue and use ladders to access storage areas. Regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs., and occasionally sit, kneel, bend, and reach to stock merchandise. Manual dexterity for tasks such as using a computer and handling merchandise.
