Overview Rails is looking for a Retention Marketing Manager to lead our efforts in deepening customer relationships and driving repeat engagement through best-in-class Email, SMS, and loyalty strategies.You will own the retention marketing strategy from ideation through execution — developing thoughtful, data-driven campaigns that align with our brand and business goals. You will also play a key role in shaping and growing our new loyalty program, working cross-functionally to ensure a seamless and rewarding customer experience. You will report to the Director of Growth and work closely with internal and external partners to bring your vision to life, test and iterate, and drive measurable results.Responsibilities Develop and lead the retention marketing strategy across Email and SMS channels, with a strong focus on customer lifecycleOwn campaign planning and execution, overseeing everything from content briefing and deployment to analysis and optimizationManage the retention marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with brand, merchandising, and promotional prioritiesOversee and evolve automated lifecycle campaigns, maintaining and optimizing flows to improve customer engagement and revenueDesign and implement a robust testing framework to consistently improve performance and uncover new opportunitiesAnalyze performance metrics and customer data, and translate insights into actionable improvements and reports for leadership and internal partnersGuide the integration and growth of our loyalty program, driving member acquisition, engagement, and retentionStay on top of industry trends and innovations in retention and CRM marketing, bringing fresh ideas and tools to the tableCollaborate cross-functionally with creative, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and impactful campaignsAdditional responsibilities as requiredMust be able to maintain an onsite presence in our Los Angeles office 4 days per weekQualifications Bachelor's degree with 4–6+ years of relevant experience in retention or CRM marketing, ideally within the E-commerce or DTC spaceProven track record of owning and scaling retention strategies, especially across Email and SMSExperience managing loyalty programs and driving measurable growthVery strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detailExperience with Klaviyo, Attentive, or similar platformsProficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, and familiarity with project management tools like AsanaStrong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn data into strategyExcellent communication and project management skillsCollaborative by nature; ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partnersAbility to efficiently prioritize tasks and projects based on impact, and adapt to changing priorities and responsibilitiesMust have a strong sense of personal accountability; taking ownership of initiatives and delivering top-quality resultsRails is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and building a diverse workplace in all its forms and considers candidates without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
