Retirement Analyst

Location: Tampa FL 33607 Shift: 4 days on site a week. 1 remote Duration: 6 months (possible extension)

The Retirement Analyst will provide analytical, operational, and compliance support for the retirement benefits program inclusive of defined benefit pension and defined contribution 401k plans ensuring compliance with ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations. This role supports Tampa Electric Company (TEC) and People's Gas Company (PGS).

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Plan Administration and Operations Administer and support defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including eligibility, contributions, distributions, and participant inquiries - Coordinate day-to-day operations with actuaries, recordkeepers and third-party administrators

Compliance & Governance

Support regulatory compliance activities, including nondiscrimination testing, audits, and required filings - Ensure adherence to ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements across all retirement plans - Maintain documentation and support internal and external audits and DOL Form 5500 filings

Employee Experience & Communications

Develop/deliver communications to improve employee understanding of retirement programs. - Support tools and resources to aid in retirement readiness

Projects & Continuous Improvement

Lead or support retirement-related projects such as plan changes, system enhancements, vendor management initiatives - Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline administration, and strengthen governance

Qualifications

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related area of study from an accredited institution

Related Experience Required: 3+ years of experience in an HR analytical role with focus on retirement plans (defined benefit and defined contributions plans) Experience working with retirement plan vendors, audits, and compliance processes Working knowledge of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS, DOL)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Required: Demonstrated ability to balance technical retirement expertise with clear, employee-focused communication. Excellent customer service orientation with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data and concepts into clear insights. Proven problem-solving, time management, and decision-making capabilities. High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
