    Description

    Position Overview

    The Account Manager will be responsible for managing a book of retirement plan clients, overseeing compliance and reporting, and serving as a key point of contact for both clients and advisors. This role requires strong technical expertise in 403(b) plans, the ability to work independently, and a client-first mindset.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day client relationships and deliver high-quality service to plan sponsors and advisors
    • Perform compliance testing (ADP/ACP, 410(b), 415, 402(g), 416) and explain results to clients
    • Interpret plan documents and recommend improvements or corrections as needed
    • Calculate employer contributions and confirm annual funding requirements
    • Prepare and review Form 5500 and related filings (e.g., 5558, 5330, 8955)
    • Partner with auditors and support audit processes
    • Identify and resolve compliance issues, including missed deferrals, late deposits, and correction methods (VCP, DFVCP, SCP)
    • Support plan amendments, terminations, and onboarding transitions
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of client work
    • Lead client calls and present findings in a professional, consultative manner

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience (7+ years in retirement plan administration)
    • 3+ years of experience managing retirement plan clients (403(b) experience strongly preferred)
    • QKA designation or progress toward certification
    • Strong knowledge of ERISA and IRS/DOL regulations
    • Proficiency in compliance testing and government filings
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Experience with industry platforms (e.g., Relius) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
