Contract Remote Revenue Specialist

We are seeking an experienced CDM Specialist to support healthcare revenue cycle operations in a fully remote contract role. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Charge Description Master (CDM) maintenance, coding compliance, charge capture, and hospital billing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the Charge Description Master (CDM) to ensure accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and optimal reimbursement
  • Support accurate and timely charge capture across hospital departments
  • Collaborate with providers and operational departments regarding billing, documentation, and charging practices
  • Analyze revenue data and resolve discrepancies, edits, denials, and billing issues
  • Perform regular CDM audits and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Assist in evaluating charging, coding, and auditing processes to ensure accurate revenue capture
  • Maintain accurate CDM and FSC master files and communicate updates impacting related systems/modules
  • Research issues, provide recommendations, and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in annual CDM maintenance and pricing updates
  • Review pricing against APC and market data
  • Provide education and guidance to departments regarding charging and coding compliance
  • Assist Patient Financial Services with procedure cost estimates as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle, or CDM maintenance required
  • 7+ years of related experience may substitute for degree
  • Coding certification required (CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
  • Experience with EPIC and Craneware required
  • Strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding, revenue codes, and billing systems
  • Familiarity with reimbursement methodologies including IPPS and OPPS
  • Experience with charge auditing and regulatory compliance
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
