Revenue Cycle Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Finance
Location: 1603 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208
Pay Rate:$28.00 - $32.00 Hourly
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive employee to be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Agency’s end-to-end revenue cycle operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee daily and monthly revenue cycle activities across all billing areas
- Monitor claim flow from submission through payment and resolution
- Identify trends, risks, and operational issues, impacting reimbursement or cash flow
- Recommend process improvements and workflow enhancements to Finance leadership
- Oversee Medicaid Fee for Service, Managed Care, and other payer billing processes
- Ensure timely follow up on denials, rejections, underpayments, and recoupments
- Coordinate corrections, appeals, and resubmissions
- Review external billing or clinic reports for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and distribute monthly billing totals, revenue summaries, and variance analyses
- Support month end and year end close activities related to revenue
- Prepare and maintain rate documentation and support rate updates or adjustments
- Maintain billing system configurations, payer rules, and fee schedules
- Ensure billing records meet Medicaid retention, compliance, and audit standards
- Ensure revenue cycle activities comply with Medicaid, OPWDD, OMH, Managed Care, and other applicable requirements
- Assist with internal, external, and governmental audits by coordinating documentation/responses
- Conduct or oversee internal quality checks and self-reviews to ensure audit readiness
- Ensure billing practices comply with federal, state, and program specific Medicaid regulations, i.e. OPWDD, OMH, HCBS, Managed Care
- Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid policy changes and apply updates to billing practices
- Coordinate with Compliance department on possible OMIG disclosures and provide necessary documentation/responses
- Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and work direction, to Billing Specialists and other assigned revenue cycle staff
- Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
- Participate in performance management activities, including feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations, in coordination with Finance leadership
- Conduct self in a professional manner
- Observe confidentiality and safeguards regarding all participant related information
- Follow Agency standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Education/Experience:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration or Medical Billing, required. Bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned, highly preferred. Minimum of five years’ Medicaid and healthcare billing experience, required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic computer skills, required. Advanced experience with Medicaid regulations, Managed Care billing, and electronic billing systems, required. Prior experience providing work direction, lead responsibilities, or supervision, required.
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and reliable transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must respect confidentiality.
