Revenue Cycle Education Specialist / EHR Trainer 
Status: Full-Time, Dayshift (Monday – Friday)
Location: In-Office (Boardman, OH Campus)
 
Southwoods Health is hiring a Revenue Cycle Education Specialist to train, support, and educate staff on all Revenue Cycle applications. This role develops and evaluates training programs to ensure staff competency in workflows, system use, and regulatory compliance. Your work will directly optimize cash flow, reduce denials, and enhance the patient financial experience.
 
Essential Duties
  • Training Development: Design educational materials and role-based onboarding programs tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Meditech Education: Ensure consistent Meditech training and standard workflows across acute, ambulatory, and home care settings.
  • Gap Analysis: Partner with leadership to identify knowledge gaps causing front-end errors or back-end denials, and implement targeted retraining.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track training success using QA scores, productivity metrics, denial trends, and post-training surveys.
  • Workflow Alignment: Translate operational processes into structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update materials based on payer rule changes.
  • System Testing: Conduct application testing during system updates and build corresponding educational content.
  • Compliance: Maintain operational compliance with regulatory agencies including OSHA, ODH, BOP, and TJC.
 
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
  • System Skills: 1–3 years of EMR experience (Meditech preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Instructional Background: 1–3 years of classroom teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Education & Certification: Coursework in business office activities, computer applications, and medical terminology. Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) designation preferred.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent time management.
