Website Universal Plant Services, LLC Position Overview: Reporting into FP&A Leadership, the Manager, FP&A and Commercial Analytics, is a highly visible, dual-mandate role that combines core Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with Commercial Analytics. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis while also leading pipeline, bookings, and sales performance analytics, connecting commercial activity directly to financial results and turning both into clear, actionable business insight. This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Operations, Marketing, and FP&A and is responsible for supporting financial planning and building the tracking, reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes that help leadership understand where revenue and margin are coming from, how the business is performing against plan, where risks are developing, and where the organization should focus next. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, intellectually curious, and equally strong in financial planning and commercial analytics. On the FP&A side, this person will support the annual budget and operating plan, assist with rolling forecasts, and provide variance analysis and financial modeling. On the Commercial Analytics side, this person will own pipeline and revenue tracking, CRM data quality, forecasting and KPI reporting, proposal analytics, and commercial performance insights. Success in this role means creating a reliable view of the business from opportunity through quote, purchase order, bookings, and ultimately revenue and margin, tied to the budget and forecast - giving leadership confidence in the numbers and serving as the analytical partner who helps teams make faster, better-informed decisions. The role carries two equally important mandates: (1) Financial Planning & Analysis, supporting FP&A leadership on the budget, forecast, and analysis of financial performance; and (2) Commercial Analytics, owning the visibility, accuracy, and insight behind pipeline, bookings, and sales performance. Candidates must bring hands-on experience in both. Commercial Reporting & Reconciliation Reconcile Salesforce opportunities with business-unit quote logs, purchase orders, and job records to identify duplicates, missing links, and timing differences. Build and maintain repeatable Excel and Power BI reporting that connects pipeline, authorized work, bookings, backlog and revenue. Track whether opportunities included in the beginning-of-period forecast converted, moved to a later period, or fell out of the forecast. Help standardize commercial information currently tracked through fragmented spreadsheets, quote logs, and other workflows. Lead the cross-functional investigation and resolution of discrepancies across commercial and financial reporting; identify root causes and establish repeatable controls to prevent double-counting, omissions, and inconsistent reporting. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support the annual budget and operating plan process for revenue, gross margin, and key operating expenses across business units and service lines. Assist with monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts by integrating commercial pipeline and backlog data with operational and financial assumptions. Prepare month-end variance analysis of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year, helping explain key drivers and identify potential corrective actions. Help build and maintain driver-based financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, to support planning, pricing, and investment decisions. Analyze profitability and margin performance by business unit, service line, customer, and job. Assist in preparing monthly management reporting and executive and Board financial presentations. Partner with Accounting on the monthly close, accruals, and revenue timing to reconcile commercial and financial results. Provide ad hoc financial analysis supporting strategic initiatives, capital decisions, and acquisitions. Revenue, Pipeline & Conversion Analytics Own the tracking and reporting of pipeline, bookings, and expected revenue across business units. Measure how sales activity converts into opportunities, proposals, bookings, and revenue. Track the full commercial funnel from opportunity to quote to purchase order to bookings to revenue. Analyze conversion rates, pipeline movement, aging, probability, and timing to identify trends and potential revenue gaps. Establish consistent definitions for pipeline stages, forecast categories, probabilities, and commercial KPIs. Provide weekly reporting on pipeline movement, activity, conversion, and stalled opportunities. Improve visibility into the timing and quality of future revenue. Integrated Financial & Commercial Forecasting Lead the weekly pipeline review process. Consolidate commercial forecasts with Operations and FP&A to improve revenue planning. Develop reporting that distinguishes between committed, probable, and longer-term revenue opportunities. Support monthly and quarterly bookings and revenue reviews for executive leadership and Board reporting. KPI Reporting & Business Intelligence Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards that provide a clear view of commercial performance. Track measures such as pipeline coverage, bookings, revenue outlook, opportunity conversion, quote conversion, win rate, sales activity, forecast accuracy, proposal cycle time, margin trends, and customer and market penetration. Analyze performance by salesperson, account, geography, business unit, service line, and end market. Translate data into concise insights, trends, and recommended actions for leadership. Support market sizing and maintenance-spending estimates using facility data, installed equipment, industry benchmarks, and other external sources, documenting key assumptions and limitations. Research into industrial end markets, including refining, chemicals, pipelines, and power generation to identify demand for UPS services. Continuously improve reporting so teams spend less time compiling information and more time acting on it. CRM Data Quality & Adoption Ensure CRM systems accurately reflect current opportunities, customer activity, expected timing, probability, and commercial outcomes. Monitor CRM completeness and accuracy and work with Sales leadership to improve adoption. Develop and maintain CRM reports and data-quality controls that support pipeline management, forecasting and commercial-performance reporting. Partner with IT and Business Systems to improve Tracking functionality, reporting, and integrations without creating unnecessary administrative burden for the field. Sales Performance & Compensation Support Support Finance and Sales leadership in setting sales targets and quotas; lead the tracking and reporting of individual and team performance against those targets and other commercial KPIs and provide analytical support for incentive compensation calculations. Develop clear, auditable reporting that gives employees and leadership confidence in performance and compensation results. Provide visibility into performance versus plan and identify the actions required to close gaps. Cross-Functional Partnership Serve as a key analytical partner connecting Sales, Operations, Finance / FP&A, Business Development, and Business Systems / IT. Translate sales and customer activity into operational and financial information the organization can act on. Help align commercial forecasts with operational capacity and financial expectations. Support the integration of acquired businesses into common commercial processes, reporting standards, and systems. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable supporting the budget and forecast and analyzing a sales pipeline, who enjoys working with data, and who understands that the purpose of analytics is to drive better decisions. Required Experience 6-8+ years of progressive experience spanning both FP&A and Commercial Analytics (e.g., Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Commercial Finance, or Business Analytics). Experience in both areas is required. Strong executive communication and presentation skills. Ability to organize complex information and create clear, repeatable reporting processes.
