RF Antenna Hardware Integration & Test Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD

Security Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance Required

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

Overview

Our client is seeking an RF Antenna Hardware Integration & Test Engineer to support the integration, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting of advanced RF antenna and phased array systems. This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment supporting the development and production of sophisticated antenna technologies and RF subsystems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with antenna testing, RF measurements, phased arrays, system integration, and test automation. This role will collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and technical leadership teams to improve system performance and support product development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support integration and testing of advanced RF antenna and phased array systems.
• Operate and maintain antenna test equipment used in factory and development testing environments.
• Integrate new test equipment, tools, and programs into existing test facilities.
• Develop software tools and scripts for test automation and data analysis using MATLAB and other technologies.
• Troubleshoot RF hardware and system-level issues during development and production testing.
• Support technicians with troubleshooting activities, training, and technical guidance.
• Analyze test data and identify performance trends and anomalies.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective action development.
• Collaborate with design engineering teams to improve hardware designs and test methodologies.
• Perform subsystem analysis spanning RF hardware through digital signal processing architectures.
• Support performance verification, requirements validation, and qualification testing efforts.
• Conduct and support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Design Readiness Reviews (DRRs).
• Develop concepts of operation for integration and test activities.
• Execute subsystem and system-level testing in both engineering development and manufacturing environments.
• Support technical documentation and reporting efforts.

Required Qualifications

Engineer Level

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field with 2+ years of experience, OR

• Masters degree with 0+ years of experience.

• An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Active U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret Clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Experience using MATLAB.

• Experience with antenna range integration, antenna testing, and subsystem integration.

• Experience setting up and testing hardware in laboratory or bench-top environments.

• Basic understanding of RF and antenna performance analysis.

Principal Engineer Level

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience, OR

• Masters degree with 3+ years of experience, OR

• PhD with 1+ year of experience.

• An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Experience supporting near-field and/or compact antenna test ranges.

• Experience with:

• Antenna testing and integration

• Data collection and analysis

• RF performance evaluation

• System integration activities

• Experience with RF test equipment, including:

• Network Analyzers

• Signal Generators

• Spectrum Analyzers

• Oscilloscopes

• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience developing software scripts and tools using MATLAB, Visual Basic, and/or C++.

• Experience leading technical activities, prioritizing work, and coordinating engineering efforts.

• Ability to solve complex RF and microwave engineering challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).

• Advanced experience with:

• Near-field antenna ranges

• Compact antenna ranges

• Antenna measurement systems

• Experience with NSI-MI antenna range test systems.

• Expert-level MATLAB skills for antenna data processing and analysis.

• Experience with:

• Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)

• Digital Beamforming

• Reflect Arrays

• Advanced phased array architectures

• Experience with subsystem requirements development, flow-down, and configuration management.

• Strong understanding of RF performance analysis and production test support.
