About the Role

LHH is hiring an RF Engineer for a growing technology organization in Albuquerque to support the development of advanced communication capabilities for airborne systems. This position plays a key role in shaping RF performance, communication reliability, and system integration for specialized high‑altitude applications. The RF Engineer will work across multiple engineering groups to develop and refine radio‑frequency solutions, from early‑stage design through testing, validation, and integration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, complex systems, and fast‑moving innovation environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine RF components and subsystems used in airborne communication platforms

  • Create system‑level RF architectures and contribute to end‑to‑end communication pathway design

  • Perform modeling, simulations, and performance assessments to guide design decisions

  • Conduct bench and field evaluations to validate RF behavior, diagnose issues, and implement improvements

  • Support integration of RF hardware with electrical, avionics, software, and power systems

  • Prepare technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering reports

  • Evaluate interference issues and support electromagnetic compatibility solutions

  • Assist with spectrum‑related compliance activities and communication regulations

  • Participate in technical reviews and cross‑functional engineering discussions

  • Collaborate with suppliers, technology partners, and external stakeholders as needed

Required Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a similar discipline

  • 5+ years of industry experience working with RF systems or communication technologies

  • Strong foundation in RF concepts such as propagation, modulation methods, filtering, and noise behavior

  • Experience using RF design and simulation tools (such as HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, or comparable platforms)

  • Hands‑on experience with RF measurement tools (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)

  • Familiarity with antenna development or antenna‑based system support

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot RF issues in both lab and real‑world test environments

  • Clear communication and documentation abilities

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in a related engineering field

  • Background working with aerospace systems, remote platforms, electric vehicles, or high‑altitude technologies

  • Knowledge of long‑range, broadband, or specialized wireless communication systems

  • Understanding of EMI/EMC requirements and associated testing

  • Experience working within regulated technical environments or with spectrum licensing

  • Comfort working in fast‑paced, highly collaborative engineering settings

What You'll Enjoy

  • Complimentary chef‑prepared lunches

  • Snacks and beverages available throughout the day

  • Access to onsite fitness and wellness amenities, including a gym and pickleball court

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and disability plans with significant employer coverage
