Location: Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego)
Hybrid Schedule: Primarily remote. Occasional travel (1–2 times/month) to the Irvine, CA office for meetings or training. During onboarding, in-person sessions may be more frequent.
Travel: Approximately 15% (mileage reimbursed for business travel)

Using sound engineering principles and planning tools, this role supports the RF Engineering team in small cell sales, project implementation, and ongoing maintenance/modification of DAS and Small Cell Networks (SCN). The position will support PROW activities in the West region and engage in multiple projects at various stages. This is a highly collaborative role requiring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer engineering teams.
Design and propose DAS and small cell network solutions.
Conduct site selection, CW tests, data analysis, and propagation modeling.
Create and review node candidate evaluations, A&E drawings, as-builts, and closeout documents.
Produce wiring diagrams, equipment lists, and bill of materials for node and power designs.
Design power to the node (AC/DC sources) and modify designs in AutoCAD.
Ensure compliance with FCC, OSHA, and city regulations (RF emissions, noise, interference).
Oversee system optimization of multi-node outdoor SCN systems.
Collaborate on design standards and integration processes.
Support new technology trials and process/tool innovation.
Manage approved vendors to complete RF engineering scope of work.
Configure, test, optimize, and commission DAS and small cell networks.
Provide NOC support and troubleshoot performance issues.
Conduct field validation using test equipment (spectrum analyzers, power meters, pilot scanners).
Perform RF and fiber testing, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Deliver ongoing system testing, analysis, and recommendations for upgrades.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science (MSEE preferred)
Experience Requirements
2–4+ years of RF engineering experience
Strong knowledge of small cell architecture and DAS design
Proficiency with RF prediction tools (Atoll, IBWave) and MapInfo
Experience with LTE, CBRS, UMTS, CDMA (5G preferred)
Skilled in commissioning and optimization of Small Cell RRUs and DAS systems
Ability to use AutoCAD for power design modifications
Proficient in MS Office, Power BI, and analytics tools
Familiarity with RF emissions testing, PIM/Sweep testing, and troubleshooting
