The RF Hardware team designs, develops, and optimizes radio frequency (RF) board and module designs for wireless silicon/platform development and wireless-enabled Apple products. The RF Hardware Rework and Assembly Technician will support the hardware design team in wireless PCB assembly and component rework, as well as support maintenance of lab facilities and lab operations.Perform assembly, rework, and repair to PCB hardware as requested by engineering team members and management. Ensure lab supplies and consumables are fully stocked for all lab users, and equipment is maintained in working order. Organize and regularly clean up the lab to ensure smooth lab operations. Ensure lab safety procedures and SOPs are understood and followed by all lab users.1+ year minimum related experience required. Associates or Applied Science degree or higher in electronics, with a basic understanding of electronic components such as resistors, inductors, capacitors, diodes, etc. Hands-on experience with electronic circuit board manual assembly and rework in an R&D lab setting. Skilled in using typical rework equipment such as soldering irons, heat guns, hot plates, reflow ovens, etc.Ability to read a schematic and view a board design file and find the physical components on the board based on the schematic. Experience with 2D/3D X-ray to identify assembly defects. Experience with BGA re-balling machines. Ability to rework BGA/LGA ICs and modules and passive components down to 01005 size. Ability to mount jumper wires and RF coax cables onto PCBs, manually cut/modify PCB traces. Ability to follow rework instructions provided by engineering. Ability to identify correct components and component values to use for rework based on the engineer's request. Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds off the ground to waist height. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate clearly with engineers and management on assigned tasks. Strong sense of ownership and pride over your work deliverables.
