ATX Networks offers an outstanding work environment and a competitive compensation package.We are seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to join our broadband access hardware team, responsible for the design and development of RF amplifiers and modules used in Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) cable plant infrastructure. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the RF Hardware Engineer will work with the ATX Product Development teams to develop, implement, and support detailed designs for the HFC products as ATX expands its product portfolio in the HFC space. The role will be located with the Atlanta based RF development team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This is a hardware engineering design position focused on new product development.There will be a mixed amount of digital and analog hardware engineering design and analysis as required working with the HFC product development team.Research, develop and evaluate design concepts including components and specifications for use in the product design and development.Utilize simulation software tools for circuit simulation and analysis of designs.Work in close cooperation with the RF engineering design team and product management team on cost effective, manufacturable solutions for the amplifier and node product platforms.Work with outside suppliers to identify components able to meet the custom, and off the shelf, design requirements of the products.Perform or facilitate testing of the product / system as required to validate the designs and generate data sets for use in internal reviews and customer reviews.Follow our ATX development process and documentation requirements during the new product development programs as required.Provide schedule estimate inputs as needed for project planning and participate in ongoing program update activities providing as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus in RF, analog, or microwave circuit design.4+ years of RF/analog design experience.Demonstrated design experience with wideband amplifier circuits spanning at least 5 MHz – 1 GHz.Background in schematic capture tools – Mentor, Cadence, Altium or similarProficiency in RF simulation using Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office, or equivalent.Background in commercial product design and optimization for low-cost design targetsSolid background developing technical specifications based on marketing product requirementsBackground in delivering quality designs to market in a timely fashion, with a high degree of quality and longevity.Good documentation and communication skills for both internal and external facing communications.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in electrical engineering specializing in RF/microwave or analog circuit design.2 years in cable television, broadband access, or HFC-related product development.Prior experience at a cable operator, MSO equipment vendor, or HFC active component manufacturer.TRAVEL This role will require up to 25% travelEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
