As a trusted mission partner, the United States and its allies depend on us for critical information when it matters most.Role DescriptionThe RF Engineer will be responsible for the RF Hardware design for a remote sensing payload. The role will also be responsible for the concept of operations (CONOPS) of the payload to inform design in all domains.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and optimize RF Hardware design for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payloads while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project specificationsLead the RF hardware design involving high-speed digitizers, low-noise RF circuits with collaboration with embedded software and firmware engineer.Work closely with SAR Engineers to test and validate SAR payloads and data collectionsConduct detailed RF Hardware analysis for antennas and antenna arraysCreate RF subsystem requirements and derive engineering requirements to meet project goalsPerform microwave analysis using Python or similar toolsGenerate documentation and effectively communicate technical information to audiences of varying technical abilityContribute technical writing to RFIs, RFPs, and other business capture activitiesRequired QualificationsAdvanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field6+ years of experience in a similar engineering role (RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering)4+ years of experience in a spacecraft engineering discipline4+ years of experience in high-speed electronics and RF designExperience in anechoic testing with phased antenna arraysExperience in RF test automation and data analysisExperience in electromagnetics, RF, and antenna theoryFamiliarity with SAR imaging concepts and system designPreferred Qualifications4+ years of hands-on experience in SAR payload design and integrationExperience with assembly, integration, and testing for spacecraft/payloadsExperience with embedded programming (C/C++) and FPGA design tools (Verilog/VHDL)Experience with formal verification and validation of space-rated systemsPay Range and Compensation PackageThe estimated base salary range for this role is $155k - $185k depending on experienceOther benefits include health coverage, flexible PTO, a friendly work environment, plus extra fun perks!Physical RequirementsThis position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required.
