Protech Staffing is seeking an experienced RF Electronics Repair Technician responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying RF electronic equipment and printed circuit boards at the component level. This role requires a strong understanding of RF transmission, amplification, and receiving circuitry, along with the ability to independently diagnose failures and repair radio frequency equipment.
The ideal candidate must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics, troubleshoot RF systems independently, and perform high-quality component-level soldering repairs on complex electronic assemblies including radio antennas and amplifier transmitters.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair RF electronic equipment at the component level
• Perform thru-hole and surface-mount soldering and de-soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs)
• Repair, modify, and replace components on RF circuit boards and STB units
• Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Troubleshoot RF transmission, amplification, and receiving circuitry
• Test and repair radio antennas, amplifier transmitters, and related RF equipment
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and system processing using computer applications
• Work safely around heavy electronic equipment and follow all workplace safety procedures
• Maintain quality workmanship and attention to detail in all repairs
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of thru-hole and surface-mount soldering experience
• Component-level troubleshooting and repair experience required
• Strong RF (Radio Frequency) troubleshooting and repair experience required
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair RF electronic equipment
• Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and technical drawings
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing PCBs at the component level
• Basic computer proficiency including data entry and navigation of applications such as MS Office
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; all training and team communication will be conducted in English
• Safety-toe shoes required while working around heavy equipment
Physical Requirements
• Work with heavy electronic equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
• Lifting assistance is available when necessary
• Must be comfortable working with and moving heavy electronic equipment, including sliding radios onto conveyor systems
• Ability to stand for extended periods during repair and testing activities
Work Environment
• Electronics repair and RF production environment
• Shared workbench environment between 1st and 2nd shift technicians
