Rf Technician III - Talus

An RF Technician III performs technical functions as relates to building, maintaining or repairing RF (coaxial cable) plant. Builds and configures 90v AC plant powering, back up battery systems and carrier small cell radios. Participates in carrier small cell on-call rotation to effect repairs and or system restoration. Provides back up technical support and training to lower tier RF techs.

• Must possess a valid AZ driver license with clean record
• Requires ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Competent in critical thinking and problem solving
• Comfortable using Excel and Adobe software
• Requires attention to detail while following documented instruction
• Complete commitment to quality while following industry accepted standards and practices
• Safely uses basic hand tools, volt meters and other testers
• Basic understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory
• Familiar with RF design symbology and design maps
• Understanding of OSP parts and functionality
• Capability to assemble and integrate ISP & OSP coax locations
• Accustomed to building new and repairing existing coax plant
• Qualified to tie and activate new plant
• Basic knowledge of system powering; both AC & DC power supplies
• Proficient in use of RF signal meter and volt ohm meter
• Understands RF signal processing and diplex filtering
• Operates bucket truck and or aerial man lift; must be comfortable at heights
• Proven ability to perform retrofit & maintenance window activities
• Efficiently troubleshoot RF & powering issues
• Engineers plant changes in field as needed; accurately documents in as-built process
• Operates spectrum sweep analyzer to achieve final and desired signal response
• Trains RF Techs I & II to advance skill sets to improve efficiency
• Executes build, install, integration and activation of wireless carrier small cell (SC) sites
• Works and effectively communicates with carrier SC technicians
• Efficaciously troubleshoots and repairs carrier SC sites
• Fiber Optics experience a plus
