Summary/Objective
The Prep Team is responsible for opening, assembling and inspecting all merchandise that is assigned to them for delivery.
Essential Functions
Prep Line employees are responsible for moving all merchandise to their assigned lanes and verifying all merchandise assigned to the lane using reports.
The employee is responsible for removal of all merchandise from cartons as well as packaging materials, moving all trash to the sanitation area once the lane is done, and keeping the work area clean, organized in order to meet all safety requirements.
The Prep Line employee will build all furniture which requires assembly, inspecting all merchandise for damages, marking flaws and notating them on the report. The employee will repack damaged merchandise that is beyond repair and timely notifying shop technicians when repairs are needed.
Prep Line employees work closely with the shop techs to ensure that all items are repaired, prepped and ready for next day delivery.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as a tug truck, two wheel dolly, four wheel carts, drills, box cutters, plastic wrapping materials and tape.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
He/she may need to lift 10 to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Occasionally he/she may be required to manipulate weights in excess of 200lbs with the help of a dolly and/or other employees. Employees working on the prep line are required to remain on their feet for a substantial amount of time. They must be able to tolerate very high temperatures and moderately low temperatures depending on season.
