Franklin Templeton is a leading asset management firm with a 75-year history of innovation and a commitment to being a trusted partner for our clients. Our brand is built on reliability, expertise and forward-thinking solutions. The US Marketing organization is a key partner in our distribution efforts, working alongside our sales and strategic account teams to best align our capabilities with client needs. We are seeking a RIA Client Marketing Director, responsible for developing and leading strategic marketing engagement across priority US Wealth relationships, with particular focus on the RIA, Private Bank and wealth platform channels.
The ideal candidate is a highly strategic, client-facing marketer who combines deep knowledge of the US wealth marketplace with strong relationship and commercial instincts. They will understand the needs, business models and decision-making dynamics of RIAs, Private Banks and wealth platforms, and translate those insights into differentiated marketing strategies that advance both client and Franklin Templeton priorities. A creative thinker and strong collaborator, this person will be comfortable advising senior stakeholders, navigating ambiguity, leading through influence and constructively challenging the status quo to bring forward ideas that can drive meaningful business outcomes.
How you will add value
Develop and lead strategic client marketing
- Partner closely with US Wealth Marketing, Sales and Strategic Accounts leadership to develop marketing strategies for priority RIA, Private Bank and wealth platform relationships, grounded in each client's business priorities, audience needs and growth opportunities.
- Serve as a senior, client-facing marketing partner, building trusted relationships with key contacts across partner firms and representing Franklin Templeton marketing in strategic planning, business reviews and joint working sessions.
- Lead cross-functional teams through influence to translate client and business priorities into coordinated engagement across content, digital, email, web, multimedia, events, sponsorships, sales enablement and other relevant channels.
- Contribute to resource and budget decisions, helping prioritize investment against the highest-value client and commercial opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen Franklin Templeton's relevance within partner firms by connecting our investment capabilities, insights and solutions to the needs of advisors, bankers, investment teams and end clients.
- Continuously evaluate relationship marketing plans and client engagement to determine effectiveness, surface insights and evolve the strategy throughout the year.
Lead through partnership and influence
- Act as a strategic connector across Marketing, Sales, Strategic Accounts, Investment Marketing, Digital, Product and other teams to ensure client opportunities are approached holistically.
- Bring a strong point of view to senior-level discussions, using client insight, market knowledge and sound judgment to shape recommendations and priorities.
- Drive alignment across stakeholders and workstreams without relying on formal authority, creating clarity around objectives, roles, decisions and next steps.
- Foster long-term strategic partnerships inside and outside the organization that support joint business priorities and sustained growth.
- Establish and maintain close relationships across partner firms' marketing, sales, investment and platform organizations, uncovering opportunities for differentiated engagement and joint initiatives.
- Work with Sales and Strategic Accounts to translate client needs into relevant messages, content, experiences and enablement, with ongoing connectivity to how resources are being used and what is resonating in market.
- Make strategic decisions that balance competing priorities and require significant judgment in ambiguous situations.
New mandate, platform and product opportunity support
- As new products, mandates or platform opportunities emerge, work in close partnership with Sales, Strategic Accounts and partner firms to define the client opportunity, audience, value proposition and marketing approach.
- Create and lead go-to-market strategies that consider partner readiness, advisor or banker education, sales enablement, launch activation and post-launch needs.
Client engagement, campaign and content strategy
- Develop and lead client-specific, product and thematic marketing initiatives aligned to priority business opportunities.
- Use data, client feedback and market insight to evaluate engagement and share actionable recommendations with Sales and Strategic Accounts partners.
- Identify opportunities to grow the business through marketing-led initiatives that reach the right audiences across RIA, Private Bank and wealth platform ecosystems.
- Lead a disciplined marketing brief and planning process, bringing together colleagues across functions to define the client need, audience, objective, activation strategy and measures of success before execution begins.
What will help you be successful in this role
