Job Description: 
We are seeking a skilled Machinery Mover (Rigger) to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe, precise, and efficient relocation, installation, and dismantling of heavy industrial equipment at active job sites. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in rigging and machinery moving, a strong understanding of load dynamics, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in high-risk environments. 
 
Responsibilities: 
The Machinery Mover (Rigger) is responsible for the precise execution of complex rigging and machinery moving activities, requiring the use of advanced rigging techniques, lifting equipment, and coordinated crew operations, including, but not limited to: 
  • Safely relocate, dismantle, move, and install industrial machinery and equipment 
  • Set up and operate rigging equipment to lift, move, and position heavy loads 
  • Attach loads to rigging using appropriate hand and power tools to ensure stability and control during movement 
  • Inspect rigging equipment prior to use to ensure safety and compliance 
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery to final specifications 
  • Install rigging components including pulleys, blocks, and support systems to fixed structures (beams, ceilings, gin poles, etc.) 
  • Control and guide movement of heavy equipment through tight or confined spaces using chain falls, skates, forklifts, and other specialized equipment 
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move, position, or stabilize loads 
  • Collaborate with operators, foremen, and crew members to coordinate safe and efficient lifting operations 
  • Follow established procedures for loading, unloading, and securing equipment, including proper tie-down methods for transport 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, rigging drawings, and lift plans; assist in developing lift plans as needed 
  • Transport heavy, oversized, and overweight equipment and materials using company vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards 
  • Perform proper load securement, tie-down, and inspection procedures prior to and during transport 
  • Maintain working knowledge of tools, equipment, and rigging applications required for each job 
  • Support continuous learning and development of rigging techniques and best practices 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
 Education & Experience: 
  • Valid CDL-A required 
  • 5+ years of experience in rigging, machinery moving, or heavy industrial work (or equivalent combination of training and experience) 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rigging practices, load calculations, and equipment capabilities 
  • Experience working with or alongside cranes, forklifts, hoists, and hydraulic moving equipment 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and lift plans preferred 
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) 
  • Proven ability to transport heavy, oversized, and overweight loads in compliance with applicable regulations, including proper securement and route considerations 
 Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50–100 lbs on a regular basis 
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods 
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces 
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions 
  • Ability to maintain balance and coordination while handling heavy or suspended loads 
  • Must have full use of hands and arms for handling rigging equipment and tools 
  • Ability to wear and properly use PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, and steel-toe boots 
  • Capable of working overtime, weekends, and travel as project demands require
