Assistant / Staff Right of Way Specialist

Location: Morristown, NJ
Job Type: Long-Term Contract Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant or Staff Right of Way Specialist to support a variety of land, utility, and infrastructure projects for our client in Morristown, New Jersey. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex Right of Way and real property matters.

The selected candidate will support project teams through document analysis, stakeholder data management, permitting coordination, and land rights research while helping ensure project schedules and deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret land and Right of Way-related agreements, including deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses
  • Complete rights and restrictions reviews
  • Support permitting activities and documentation requirements
  • Research and review real property-related documents
  • Interpret easement agreements and related land records
  • Assist with translating Right of Way data into stakeholder management databases
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of stakeholder management database entries completed by field agents
  • Compile and organize technical data for presentation to Right of Way project teams
  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS specialists, vegetation management teams, Right of Way managers, and real estate coordinators
  • Attend and participate in public open houses and stakeholder meetings as requested
  • Support additional client needs and project initiatives as directed
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirement
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and task-tracking software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-service mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Experience with electric utility facilities or railroad projects preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with Google Earth and construction drawings preferred
  • IRWA designation is desirable, but not required
  • Valid driver's license required and ability to maintain company driving privileges
