Summary Statement

The Rink Attendant assists with daily operations and customer service at the facility by addressing customer questions and providing support to staff as needed. This role helps ensure a positive experience for all visitors and contributes to the smooth running of Idaho IceWorld. The position is open to all individuals aged 16 and older, works up to 19 hours per week, and is designated as At-Will.

Idaho IceWorld, is Idahos premier indoor family ice skating and entertainment center. We offer adult and youth hockey leagues, figure skating programs, Learn-To-Skate and Learn-To-Play Hockey programs, and public skating sessions.

Essential Functions

Assists customers at the skate rental counter. Determines the correct size of rentals and checks out customers. Performs other duties about customer service, answering questions related to programs and/or operations, and related duties as assigned. Utilizes computers and related software such as word processing and risk management.

Participate in janitorial duties such as keeping all areas of the facility neat, clean, and safe at all times. These duties include sweeping and mopping the rink restrooms, locker rooms, shower areas, lobby, meeting rooms, bleachers, removing trash, cleaning rink glass, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Knowledge of:

  • customer service techniques;
  • cash handling procedures;
  • basic addition and subtraction.

Ability to:

  • interact with the general public; provide a high level of customer service;
  • display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations;
  • communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance;
  • complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations;
  • maintain prompt and regular attendance; and
  • perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

  • 6 months working in a customer service role.

Applicants must be able to pass:

  • City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
