We have an exciting opportunity for a Rip Out Laborer in Norfolk, Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain DBIDS
- Previous experience performing demolition, rip-outs, insulation removal, construction labor, or shipyard labor is preferred.
- Ability to work aboard naval vessels and in an active shipyard environment.
- Familiarity with shipboard safety procedures and industrial work environments preferred.
- Previous shipyard, marine, or naval vessel experience is preferred.
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Perform demolition and rip-out work aboard naval vessels during maintenance, repair, and modernization projects.
- Remove existing tile, insulation, wall coverings, decking materials, fixtures, and other shipboard components as directed.
- Strip compartments, berthing areas, passageways, and workspaces in preparation for renovation and repair activities.
- Operate jackhammers, chipping hammers, saws, pry bars, and other demolition tools and equipment.
- Remove and dispose of debris in accordance with shipyard, environmental, and customer requirements.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the vessel.
Schedule:
- 6am-2pm Monday-Friday
- Must be flexible to work OT and weekends as needed
