Job Description:

Serves as a hospital content expert on performance improvement projects, accreditation, and safety. Participates in AHS quality initiatives, assisting with data management, performance improvement, medical record review, and meeting organization. Maintains daily screening process for all inpatient admissions, ensuring all patients with coded diagnoses for core measure conditions have appropriate safety measures addressed. Plans, implements, and monitors interventions to ensure evidence-based practices are implemented. Prepares reports and statistical analysis for medical staff and hospital leadership meetings, utilizing sensitivity and diplomacy in interactions. Facilitates the patient grievance process, ensuring grievances are investigated; directs inquiries to appropriate directors and managers for follow-up. Manages incoming and outgoing sensitive regulatory correspondence, ensuring appropriate follow-up and drafting response correspondence as necessary. Considers financial implications, safety implications, and clinical outcomes when making recommendations. Participates in cost-benefit assessments, efficacy studies, and product evaluations using a systematic approach. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook [Required]
  • Excellent communication skills- written, oral and presentation - to build relationships with all departments, physicians and executive team [Required]
  • Must possess presentation skills, as well as negotiation and advocacy skills when interacting with fellow members of the healthcare team as well as outside accrediting agencies, legal bodies, and other healthcare institutions. Internal and external contacts are often problem-driven [Required]
  • Analytical ability to interpret data trends [Required]
  • Acts independently and demonstrates organizational and problem-solving skills [Required]
  • Facilitation of various PI methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, PDSA, etc. [Required]
  • Preparing and presenting professional presentations to executive leadership teams [Required]
  • Accreditation activities and survey preparation [Required]
  • Provider performance improvement activities [Required]
  • Proven ability in areas of leadership/ supervision, knowledge of regulatory aspects of healthcare, QA/QI principles, education and outcomes [Preferred]

Education:

  • Bachelor's [Required]

Field of Study:

  • in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or other related healthcare field

Work Experience:

  • 3+ in healthcare [Required]
  • In healthcare related performance improvement or project management [Preferred]
  • In regulatory compliance, patient safety, Peer Review or OPPE process [Preferred]
