Risk & Regulatory Reporting Analyst

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a Risk and Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our team. This role focuses on hands-on application development to support a strategic platform for regulatory capital reporting and analysis under Basel rules. The analyst will collaborate with technology teams to implement target architecture, migrate legacy systems, and ensure compliance with regulatory capital reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on application development to support current and target processes.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to implement target architecture and migrate to the strategic platform.
  • Elaborate requirements for data sourcing elements for calculating risk-weighted assets (RWA).
  • Define business logic for computing financial elements and process flows for generating Basel rules-based capital ratios.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory capital reporting under Basel rules.
  • Contribute to the development of a stable, scalable, and sustainable capital reporting and analysis platform.
  • Implement tech-based solutions for regulatory capital calculations.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data-intensive applications.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of SQL programming experience, preferably with Oracle Exadata.

Technical Skills: A strong background in Basel regulations, including Basel 3 endgame, FRTB, and SACCR is required. Candidates must have the ability to read Python and translate it into logical components, along with prior experience using tools like Alteryx or Trifacta. Strong data analytical skills, experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop), and familiarity with agile development methodologies are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • A background in capital calculations and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
