It combines 50% emergency management duties with 50% lease administration, reporting, and compliance activities.Emergency Management ResponsibilitiesServe on the ESF6 Operations team, managing missions, tasking, and support requests as directed by the ESF6 Lead.Act as ESF6 Alt Lead when delegated authority is granted by the ESF6 Lead.Assist with DCF emergency management planning, response, and recovery activities.Provide administrative, planning, compliance, and coordination support for Mass Care operations.Coordinate with state agencies, partners, vendors, and service providers to facilitate information sharing and operational readiness.Collect, review, analyze, and report operational data related to sheltering, feeding, emergency supplies, and human services.Participate in trainings, exercises, meetings, and preparedness initiatives.Review provider-submitted emergency preparedness and continuity plans for compliance and completeness.Assist with documentation, after‑action reviews, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement activities.Perform additional emergency management tasks as required.Lease Management ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and process lease actions, approvals, and documentation; maintain lease records, databases, and reporting systems.Prepare recurring reports, performance measures, analyses, and data submissions on statewide lease activities.Support lease budgeting, cost projections, reconciliations, and financial tracking.Process tenant broker payments and maintain related financial records.Ensure compliance with lease reporting, documentation, and administrative requirements.Coordinate lease-related information and reporting with stakeholders.Emergency Activation ResponsibilitiesDuring activations, this role may lead ESF6 operations supporting feeding, sheltering, supplies, and human services. Responsibilities include mission tasking, resource coordination, operational information management, supervising personnel, and assisting statewide disaster response and recovery.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree, active pursuit of a degree, or two years of relevant emergency management or military experience.Strong organizational and data interpretation skills, including report and plan preparation.Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure emergency environments and multi‑agency coordination.Preferred QualificationsExperience with the State of Florida or a governmental agency in emergency management or human services.Experience in mass care, sheltering, feeding operations, or disaster response coordination.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data‑management tools for tracking operations.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and editing.Familiarity with IT systems, GIS mapping, or database management for emergency planning.Knowledge of COOP, DSNAP, and crisis counseling programs.Experience with emergency logistics, including supplies and resource coordination.Essential Job FunctionsManage and support ESF6 Mass Care operations during disaster response and recovery.Coordinate emergency planning, mission tasking, resource management, and partner collaboration.Supervise staff and lead during emergency activations.Monitor and report operational data to support decision‑making.Deploy as needed for emergency operations, including extended hours and travel.Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree, active pursuit of a degree, or two years of relevant experience in emergency management or military roles.Work Experience RequirementsKnowledge of emergency management principles, mass care operations, and resource management.Understanding of feeding, sheltering, and human services during disasters.Familiarity with state and federal emergency frameworks, including SERT and ESF6.Experience coordinating disaster‑related human services such as mass feeding or shelter support.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and execute efficiently.Strong communication skills with internal teams, external agencies, and affected populations.Data analysis, report maintenance, and after‑action summary development skills.Confidential information handling and privacy compliance.Flexibility for extended hours and deployment during activations.Problem‑solving ability in rapidly changing scenarios.Collaboration with state, local, and nonprofit partners.Software ProficiencyMicrosoft Word – report drafting, planning, and official documents.Microsoft Excel – spreadsheets for data tracking, analysis, and logistics.Microsoft PowerPoint – presentation and training material creation.WebEOC – preferred familiarity with incident management and resource tracking platforms.BenefitsNo state income tax for Florida residents.Annual and sick leave benefits.Nine paid holidays and one personal holiday.Health, life, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance options.Retirement plan with employer contributions.Flexible Spending Accounts, tuition waivers, and additional benefits.Veterans PreferenceApplicants eligible for Veterans' Preference will receive preference in employment.
