El Paso County is seeking a Risk Management Supervisor to lead the division's daily operations. Hiring Range: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; subject to change. This position supervises and directs the operational functions of the Risk Management Division within the Human Resources Department, including workers' compensation, liability, property claims, safety, and insurance administration. Provides direct supervision to professional risk management staff and oversight of third-party administrators (TPA), vendors, and occupational health providers. Supports high-severity and high-exposure claim management, actuarial reporting, insurance renewals, and regulatory compliance. Participates in representing the County in executive-level discussions regarding significant claims and settlement authority. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function.
Supervision Exercised: This classification requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or unit(s) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary action and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. A first-line or second-line supervisor typically performs these tasks. Supervision Received: Receives administrative supervision. This classification typically performs job duties and resolves conflict according to their own judgment and initiatives, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight, and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance reviewed periodically.
