The annual salary for this classification is as high as $230,707.68 at the top of the range, with a cost-of-living increase of 5% on July 1, 2026, and 5% on July 1, 2027.

Position Description and Duties

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk, workers compensation, and general liability strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization.

To Apply: Each applicant must apply online by fully completing the City of Richmond Employment Application and attaching copies of any required education or certification. Application Screening: All completed Employment Applications will be evaluated based on job-related qualifications criteria and may be screened for better-qualified candidates (Qualifying Only).
Supplemental Questions, Panel Interview, and Assessments: A limited number of better-qualified candidates will be asked to respond to a set of supplemental questions (Weighted 25%) and participate in a panel interview and skills assessment (Weighted 75%). An Employment List will be established from the combined total, and each candidate must receive a passing score of 70% or above in each area to be placed on the list. Having all of the minimum qualifications guarantees neither advancement nor placement on the Employment List.
Employment List: A ranking of "A" (Best Qualified), "B" (Well Qualified), or "C" (Qualified) is required to achieve a position on the Employment List. This Employment List will be in effect for a maximum of two (2) years; however, the list may be canceled, without notice, after six (6) months.
