POSITION SUMMARY

The Risk Manager identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential risks at Central Peninsula Hospital. The Risk Manager facilitates an organization that is Highly Reliable (HRO) by implementing HRO principles and prioritizing safe patient care. This includes developing and implementing strategies to prevent adverse events, financial loss, and legal exposure, supporting a culture of safety and high-quality patient care. The Risk Manager collaborates with administration, directors, supervisors, and staff to proactively address risk and promote transparency. They lead the Risk Management Program with vision and accountability, working across departments to enhance systems and outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in a related field: Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, Business Management, or other closely related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following:
  • Healthcare risk management
  • Patient safety
  • Quality improvement
  • Law enforcement, military, or risk management experience with demonstrated expertise in investigations, incident response, and compliance.
  • Risk management leadership with proven success implementing strategies across multiple departments.
  • BLSP CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
  • Certification in Quality, Safety, or Risk Management within 1 year of hire.
