Job Description
We are seeking a Commercial Insurance & Casualty Risk Manager to join our team onsite in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in complex general liability, product manufacturing risk, and casualty claims management and a proven ability to design and optimize commercial insurance programs, reduce total cost of risk, and drive favorable claim outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, negotiate, and administer commercial insurance programs, including General Liability, Product Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Environmental Liability, and D&O.
- Coordinate annual renewals, underwriting submissions, certificates of insurance, and compliance for customers, vendors, and contractors.
- Analyze coverage, identify gaps, and implement cost reduction opportunities aligned with risk tolerance and business objectives.
- Oversee casualty claims, including general and product liability, partnering with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, and brokers to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Review claim reserves, settlement strategies, and litigation exposure, and ensure timely reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments across manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and corporate facilities.
- Collaborate with EHS and Operations to implement safety initiatives and loss prevention measures based on analytics and loss experience.
- Track and report key risk indicators, including TRIR, LTIR, OSHA metrics, Workers' Compensation costs, and liability claim frequency.
- Develop insurance budgets, forecast expenses, and analyze total cost of risk, premiums, deductibles, SIRs, and collateral.
- Prepare executive reports on risk exposures, insurance program performance, and support actuarial studies and reserve evaluations.
- Manage vendor and broker relationships, evaluate service providers, and lead marketing and renewal strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintain documentation, and support audits, inquiries, and litigation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, Occupational Safety, or related field.
- 7+ years in risk management, insurance, claims, or casualty management with complex general liability experience.
- 3+ years supporting manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or supply chain environments.
- Experience with large deductible, self-insured, or captive insurance programs and direct work with brokers and carriers.
- Proficiency in liability claims management, policy interpretation, contract review, and risk transfer.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with ability to analyze TCOR and loss trends.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Certifications such as ARM, CRM, CPCU, AIC, or RIMS-CRMP.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial risk controls, and manufacturing safety practices.
- Experience with actuarial studies, reserve evaluations, and safety KPI tracking.
