Job Title: RME Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

Job Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports a highly automated distribution environment by installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining material handling and robotic equipment. This role combines electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic expertise to keep automated conveyor systems and related technologies running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The technician uses a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), follows strict safety procedures, and performs both preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors and automated material handling systems.

  • Perform quality preventive and predictive maintenance routines on conveyor systems, motors, batteries, and other material handling equipment.

  • Complete and document preventive maintenance procedures, including PM sheets, checklists, and related forms.

  • Perform battery changes and conduct preventive maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure reliable equipment operation.

  • Enter downtime events and maintenance activities into a daily log and accurately maintain records in the CMMS.

  • Manage work orders within the CMMS, including opening, updating, prioritizing, and closing maintenance tasks.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems associated with automated equipment.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with automated conveyor systems and controls to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.

  • Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic principles to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance on industrial equipment in a safe and compliant manner.

  • Conduct safety inspections, follow established safety procedures, and demonstrate safe work practices at all times.

  • Track and maintain inventory for the maintenance department, including spare parts and critical components.

  • Use Microsoft Office applications to document work, track performance, and communicate maintenance information.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support continuous improvement and reliable facility operations.

  • Work in a data-driven environment where performance and output are measured to ensure expectations are met.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.

  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.

  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • 2+ years of knowledge and practical experience with electrical and electronic principles.

  • 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards and safety procedures.

  • 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems.

  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience working with automated conveyor systems in an industrial or distribution environment.

  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance for conveyor systems, motors, and material handling equipment.

  • Ability to perform industrial electrical troubleshooting and maintenance safely.

  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, including blueprints and schematics.

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical maintenance in an industrial setting.

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance records.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving equipment issues efficiently.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
