RN – Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient

Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day/Night Shift
Schedule: 3x11.5 Hours | 34.5 Hours/Week
Pay Rate:

• Local: $62–$65/Hour (Based on Experience)
• Travel: $66–$69/Hour (Based on Experience)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult inpatient psychiatric patients. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient interviews and complete holistic nursing assessments on admission and discharge.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and provide patient education.
• Complete and document psychiatric screening and assessment tools in the EMR.
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout each shift.
• Participate in comprehensive treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Conduct or co-facilitate nursing education groups.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, vital signs, and IV insertion within scope of practice.
• Assist with psychiatric safety measures, including suicide precautions, seclusion, and elopement prevention.
• Guide ancillary staff in patient care activities.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Participate in patient and family conferences.
• Support positive patient outcomes and quality patient experiences.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Active New York State RN License required.
• Primary Source Verification of NYS RN License and Registration required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Experience with adult inpatient behavioral health/psychiatric patients preferred.
