WHAT WE OFFER
Position Summary:
Delivers care to patients who require acute mental health care. Ensures that care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Has 12-hour accountability for assigned area of responsibility. Ensures unit is staffed appropriately. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation when performing nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Assists and supervises, Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure that age/developmentally appropriate care is delivered in accordance with unit standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
Current Florida RN license
BSN preferred
CPI Certification
Current BLS Certification
Florida Protective Services background check
Experience in Mental Healthcare, Knowledge of Mental Health Law
Demonstrate time management skills
Positive affect and excellent oral and written communication skills
Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting the Director in planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of psychiatric patients. Observe
professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning the personal, financial, medical
or employment status or patients and their families. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for
patients and hospital. Participate in Performance improvement activities. Utilize the nursing process to
oversee and provide age specific patient care.
